Lake Management
Heartland Wildlife Management, LLC has years of experience in the field of lake management. Having a lake or pond that is overgrown with nuisance aquaticweeds is unattractive and it interferes with recreational use. We understand the requirements of lake and pond ecosystems, including the symptoms and the curesfor unhealthy waters.
Numerous small lakes and ponds that are now surrounded by homes are suffering from years of siltation and an invasion of nuisance aquatic plant pests. These factors contribute to steadily decreased water levels every year. High levels ofnutrient loading often occur due to run-off from fertilizers, composts, pet wastes, etc. Ponds that used to be windswept are now shielded from the wind by housesand trees. A reduction of dissolved oxygen levels often go hand in hand with these conditions. As a result, nuisance aquatic plants take over the pond. Left unmanaged, pond owners begin to notice undesirable affects. There are ways to slow down or stop these events.
We sell and install aeration equipment, and biological and chemical treatment products to help control nuisance aquatic vegetation. Our Lake Specialist, who is a licensed aquatic pesticide applicator, provides service chemical applications. A fish stocking service is also provided, giving lake owners comfort that the needs of the fishery are being met.
New customers learn a great deal from an on-site visit. Among other information, you will be informed of lake size, depths, species of aquatic vegetation, and will be notified of potential problems. We will also discuss the health of the fishery, ways of dealing with problems, and ways to get more enjoyment out of your lake. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
